I have a free application that installs software into Joomla! 1.5.
Currently there are three banner zones available (all leaderboard size):
- top of details page
- top of software list page
- bottom of both pages
If you have a Joomla! component (or package software up as one), we can actually deliver that directly to the customer directly through the installer.
Other integration points are opening up as we release the Pro version this week.
Ads are delivered / tracked using OpenX.
6. Target Market
People viewing these banners are working inside a Joomla! environment. They
are in the process of adding software or updating their sites. Great matches would be Joomla! components, products services that make webmastering easier, site design services, etc.
7. Desired UMV
I am looking for offers that resonate with the user when they are in the system, that solve immediate needs. People here may be in pain: needing help with their sites, or they may be just having fun and experimenting with new software tools / toys.
Software and services that solve that pain / increase the toying around pleasure are great.
A solution where the Updater itself is part of a solution would be optimum.
Example: you offer webmastering services, we run an add for "need help with your site?". Part of the sales process for your professional services (help) is to have the customer upgrade to the Pro version of the Software Installer.
I'm extremely flexible / open at this point for unique offers - I'm not too keen on a typical affiliate offers, but am looking more for partners that increase the value of the Installer itself.
There is also the potential for a timing issue and multiple "punch". When major components are upgraded - let's use VirtueMart shopping cart as an example, I send out an email notifying people to go to their sites and apply the upgrade. In that email I could recommend an ecommerce service, for example, and then also display the banner for the specific related service during the timeframe when we know people will be maintaining their sites and updating their shopping carts.
I'm sure there are many great marketers here who can help leverage the system to it's full potential. I'm here to listen and learn.
